We spent the day planning for our sharing session at the April 4, 2014 P.D. day. We are offering three sessions called iPads in the Classroom. We are focusing on the technology aspect of our project in these sessions. We will focus on the using of graphic texts and iPads in our last formal sharing session later in May.
We plan to review the SAMR model with our colleagues and then demonstrate a cross curricular use of iPads in a group work task. We will prepare a handout/cheat sheet of the SAMR model and also which Apps can be used with each level of the model. We are also going to ask our colleagues to complete a short feedback survey prepared using Google Forms and will offer a few small door prizes (3 iTunes cards at $10 each) chosen from the completed surveys.
Our plan is to do a demonstrative task about the Air Malaysia Mystery and ask the teachers to do some group work using the iPads as tools to research, find videos, news reports, theories, prayers and songs etc. We will then use the Apple TV to mirror from the iPads.
Our concern is that teachers may not have access to iPads so we are going to use make sure to cover how to get by without a class set of iPads.
We will post our presentation and documents on the website and update the blog when we are finished our preparation.
