Using Marvel Wizard of Oz in a pilot classroom

Jessica Renaud, an English teacher in my department has agreed to use Marvel Wizard of Oz in her Grade 9 Locally Developed class.  This was a class we originally envisioned being involved with the project as Daniella usually teaches this class.  When Daniella had to step away from the project to kick cancer's butt, Jessica took the class and agreed to pilot one of the novels in her class.  Joe went in and taught the basics of reading Graphic Texts to the class and gave them a project where they had to arrange some pictures into a graphic story without using words.  The assignment and handout are available on our project's website.

Jessica then started the book and reports that the students are enjoying it and listening intently as she reads it to them.

I think the artwork for this text is beautiful and the students seem to agree.
